My all-time favorite TedTalk is Drew Dudley’s Everyday Leadership.
I love the idea that something we may not even remember can change the trajectory of someone’s life. I can think of examples where someone has done or said something to me that I continue to carry with me: good and bad.
Along these same lines, Doctor Who knows we can add to good things for others:
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and… bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t necessarily spoil the good things or make them unimportant. And we definitely added to his pile of good things.
Doctor Who, Series 5, Episode 10
As we all made decisions each day on how we want to navigate our current reality, I’m looking for ways to add to the pile of good things, in my life and for others.

This weekend, a stranger – or group of strangers! – added to my pile of good things with a #kindnessrocks scavenger hunt along a local walking path. I had no idea the rocks were there. I spotted one, thinking it was a fun find. And then I saw another. And another. The more I looked, the more painted rocks I found. I felt connected to other people, even though I was alone. I painted a few myself, and returned the next day to pile on the goodness.
Please let me know where you’re seeing the pile of good things grow these days?
